Where it all Began...
River of Life Lutheran Church began in 2025 during a season of uncertainty, prayer, and discernment. What first started as a desire to preserve what was familiar became a call to begin something new: a congregation centered on Christ, rooted in God’s Word, and gathered around the promise of the Gospel.
From the beginning, River of Life did not have all the pieces people often expect a church to have. We did not start with a building, a large staff, or a fully formed structure. But week after week, God gathered His people, His Word was preached, and sinners heard the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our name comes from the invitation in Isaiah 55:1: “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters.” At River of Life, that invitation continues to shape who we are: people gathered by Christ to receive His gifts and share His mercy with our neighbors.
Mission
Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)
The mission of the Church is to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ: that sinners are forgiven for His sake, faith is given through His Word, and His promises are for you.
At River of Life, we gather around God’s Word and Sacraments so that people may hear Christ proclaimed, receive His mercy, and be sent to love and serve their neighbors.
Vision
We believe God is actively at work in and through His Church. Our prayer is that every person who walks through our doors would encounter the living God—His grace, peace, and saving power—and be sent out to carry that life into their homes, neighborhoods, and workplaces.
“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
Christ at the Center
We are not gathered by our own strength, preferences, or achievements. Christ gathers His Church by His Word and continues to give His gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation.
“For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2)
Word and Sacraments
In preaching, Baptism, and the Lord's Supper Christ comes to us with real gifts. We believe God works through earthly things — spoken words, water, bread, and wine — to deliver His mercy.
This is my body, which is given for you.” (Luke 22:19)
What Shapes Our Life Together
God's Word
Scripture is the living Word of God and the place where Christ is proclaimed. God’s Word creates faith, comforts troubled consciences, and teaches us to trust His promises.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
(Psalm 119:105)
Life Together
River of Life is being built by people showing up, receiving what Christ gives, and serving together. Meals, music, youth ministry, worship, prayer, and service all flow from the life Christ gives to His Church.
